My business is not based in Birmingham, is distance going to be a problem?

Our client base is a really good mix of local and further afield businesses and organisations. We work with clients in Nottinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Humberside and London to name a small selection. Distance really is not a problem.

With the benefits of modern technology we can ‘meet’ and hold meetings on facetime or skype and of course, email & mobiles makes communication instant and effective. If a face to face meeting we are more than happy to travel to you or you can always come to our offices in Sutton Coldfield and let us look after you. Either way, distance is by no means an obstacle so definitely get in touch and let us show you what we could do for you…

Do I need to be a ‘new’ business to use the start up packages?

Our start-up packages are devised for new businesses to help them get on their feet and increase their chances of success in that all important first year of trading.

Whether you are an existing business who is currently a client of Adventure or you would like to become a client with us, we will always offer you a package price depending on your needs. It may not be exactly the same as the start up packages but it will always be competitive compared to the individual service costs and will be tailored to meet your individual business goals.

If there are a few design needs you are thinking of give us a call and let us create the perfect package for you.

What do I get for a logo design?

Our logo design service consists of a multi-stage design process. We being with talking to you, learning what would you like, looking at logo’s you admire and where your direct competitors are at. From there we begin with several logo design ideas to get the creative juices flowing on both sides. You give us your feedback and depending on your comments we either move onto the second stage and developing a couple of the ideas in more detail or we go back to the beginning and start again! We’ll happily go through the process stage by stage, as many times as necessary, with no change to the original cost until we land upon your perfect logo!

Once you’re firmly decided, we’ll provide the logo in different file types including vector and jpgs so you have a versatile logo for use in print and on screen. We’ll also keep the logo on file should you ever need to get back in touch if you need it.

Once the logo design is paid for you the copyright becomes yours and yours alone.

I’ve created my own logo in Microsoft Word. Can I use this?

Microsoft Word and Publisher are not always user-friendly for commercial printers and are almost always going to produce poor quality results. We ensure every file we create is to the highest standard and resolution so that you can reduce it, enlarge it, flip it, whatever you need to do and it will still retain its quality and clarity. This is because we create all our logos as vector (mathematically plotted) which makes it suitable for any print requirement.

But we don’t want you to feel downhearted. Your logo will give us a brilliant insight to the look and feel you would like to achieve. It may be we don’t need to change very much but we will apply our creative flair and our extensive experience to show you how it could be developed or used differently. There are also lots of design implications that you won’t be aware of too that we need to take into consideration and of course, you need to think about how your logo will be used across your whole branding and as a social media icon. We think you will be amazed and delighted with the final results and thanks to you, your original logo idea will always be the inspiration for your final concept!

Does my logo come with brand guidelines?

The Logo Design cost does not automatically include brand guidelines as they are a separate service. However, if you would like to commit to brand guidelines with your logo design we will create a package price for you which will bring you a saving by having them both done together.

We do recommend brand guidelines to ensure that your branding is consistent and effective over all mediums be in online or in print format. It is particular useful if you advertise in print or use a marketing and promotion consultant. The last thing you want is for your logo and branding to look different or worse, unprofessional. Brand guidelines help avoid these pitfalls.

If you are a new business our brand guidelines service is included in the >>>> and >>>> start up packages.

What is a ‘Responsive’ website and why is it important?

A responsive website refers to a site that changes its shape and layout to better suit the size of the screen it is being viewed on. This means the site does not get all out of order and do crazy things when it is viewed on a phone or tablet.

Responsiveness is also important for your search engine optimization. If you do have a responsive website you could be penalised by search engines. This will mean your search ranking could be affected so you might not appear as high as you would like on the seach engine results.

The majority of web surfers also now browse on mobile devices so it’s doubly mportant to make sure your site displays and functions well on platforms of all sizes.

How long will a website take?

We’ve completed a website in 2 weeks! However, this is very rare as it often takes a lot longer for the client to collate all of the information we need to complete the site.

We do offer an in-house copywriting service which can also reduce some of the stress for a client and also speed up the web build process.

We always make sure we meet your deadlines as long as we have the relevant and up to date information. If there are any problems we always let you know and send gentle reminders to keep the project moving.

My website just went live so why can’t I find it on Google?

Google, despite its notoriety, is actually just another website on the internet. Just like your website only much. much, much bigger and more complex.

The general assumption is that Google itself is the internet. This is not the case. It is just one of many search engines on the web (yahoo, bing, blekko etc|). However, it is a very good website that is internationally renowned as being exceptionally good at searching and is the preferred choice of the majority of web users which is why we all want to be on its listings!

When a website goes live it isn’t instantly recognised or noticed by search engines. Google and other search engines work by ‘scanning’ the web for new content every day. However, the internet is a rather big place so Google can’t scan all of it at once so it searches in batches. Your website will typically be ‘indexed’ by google within 2-4 weeks but can sometimes be sooner. However, your ranking is a different story and can take months (even years) to rise up to a respectable level. Google decides your rank based on many factors including relevance, context, quality of copy (content) and links to and from the site etc. This is where SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) becomes so essential.

When your website is built and ready to go live we will provide you with our ‘Simple Hints & Tips for New Websites’ PDF which will give you some guidance to increase your chances of being ranked well by Google in the early days.

If Adventure buy our domain name for us, do we still own it?

Yes, you will own the domain name.

We often register the domain name for clients as lets be honest, most of us don’t know how to do it and it is just easier.

It also means that we can add our administrative details which means we can organise the hosting of your site and deal with any problems that might arise as we are a registered contact.

You also need to renew your domain name on a yearly basis otherwise you lose the rights to the domain name which as you could imagine could be catastrophic. If we register your domain we automatically renew unless you tell us otherwise and we invoice you annually to cover the hosting and renewal. Simples!

What am I paying ‘hosting’ for?

Hosting is what is required to make your website available to the public. Without hosting you have nowhere to keep the files that make up the website. Think of it as a plot of land for your house. Every website on the internet requires online ‘land’.

Hosting costs involve the space to store the files and the connection to the web. Depending on the package you choose with us this may also include your domain name and email accounts too.

The quality of your hosting provider is reflected in the response time and functionality of your website. At Adventure we only use reputable, UK based hosting to ensure that your website operates at optimum speed and any difficulties can be resolved promptly by having easily contactable support.

Yes you can get it cheaper probably but you won’t get the service, quality or technical support we can provide. Believe us, that is worth its weight in gold.

Why does my WordPress website need protecting?

What is SEO and why is it important?

SEO refers to Search Engine Optimisation. This is the method of optimising your website so that it will be found and ranked by search engines such as Google.

All of our websites are built in line with standard SEO requirements. For example , we will always advise you on SEO optimum copy and build in SEO tags on each page.

In some cases this will be enough to put you where you want to be on Google. In others however you may need to hire the expertise of an SEO specialist. It often depends on your industry and scope.

The cost of SEO depends on what you’d like to achieve. If you’d like to rank highly on google for a search term it first must be determined how much competition you’ll have in that area.

For example:

If you’d like to rank highly for “Vaping in Wolverhampton” you’ll likely only have 2 or 3 other competitors in order to beat them for rank. This is a realistic target search term which should be reasonably priced.

If you’d like to rank highly for “Vaping in the UK” you’ll more likely have thousands of competitors and much more will need to be done to rank as high, or higher than them. Costs of this nature could be in the thousands of pounds.

SEO is ongoing and is something that you should constantly review. We have an excellent & reputable SEO partner who we can refer you to if you would like more advice in this area. It is a highly specialized service and we would always advise you research your provider before parting with your valuable budget.

Who owns the copyright for the work you’ve done for me?

You do! On payment of your invoice all of your work immediately belongs to you.

We will just ask if you don’t mind us featuring your fantastic work on our website portfolio/blog and printed material. A little bit of extra, free publicity for you too!
