8 Ways For Small Businesses To Get Ready For Christmas

8 Ways For Small Businesses To Get Ready For Christmas

Let’s talk about how small businesses can get ready for Christmas.

We know, we know, it’s can seem too early to think about it, but if you are a small business, it will come around super quickly and now is the time to get ready for Christmas!

Here are 8 ways you can start to get ready for Christmas and give your Christmas marketing some focus:

Do some research

Google your business in relation to Christmas and the kinds of questions that come up that people are looking for answers to. Use it in your seasonal marketing strategy and really embrace the festive season. Every business can use Christmas to their advantage (it just might take more thinking about for some!).

Create a theme

Branding is still important at Christmas. You want to keep your branding recognisable but also add some festive elements that create something new and engaging. This is one of those Christmas ideas for small businesses that really shows your attention to detail and how much you care.

Add Christmas products

If you have an  e-commerce website, start adding your products now (you can save them as drafts if you are not ready for them to go live). You will then have time to go back and make sure you have optimised them. Best to be prepared for sure!

Organise stationery

Do you need to promote your Christmas services/products with leaflets or order Christmas stickers or tags? This is the time to do it so you can take advantage of the cheaper, longer print delivery dates and can be one Christmas idea for small businesses that has real clout.

Spread Christmas cheer

How can you use the festive season to create some noise/good feeling that will set you apart from your competitors? Think Christmas comps, scratch cards, loyalty promos, gifts, cards etc. (Cards are probably one of the most undervalued Christmas ideas for small businesses.)

Consider Black Friday

Black Friday is no longer just an American initiative. UK consumers expect it too so it’s prudent to think about getting involved. It can be harder if you are a service-based business but there are ways you join in , you just have to be more creative!

Review your website

I know, you knew we were going to say this! But as one of your primary marketing channels, your website is the perfect place to showcase your festive ideas. Get in touch with your web designers and start thinking about how your website can promote your Christmas range or encompass the festive season.

Make a plan

This is something we need to to do!  You can have so many different ideas for Christmas but they need to be thought out and planned and this takes time. Start now, start early and brainstorm Christmas ideas with your team – get those festive thoughts flowing!
