A mobile responsive website is becoming even more crucial.
Did you know that last year, for the first time, the number of online searches on mobiles and tablets exceeded those on desktops and laptops?
They estimate that over 50-60% of online traffic is from mobile devices and this trend is only expected to continue.
There is no doubt that we live in a world where our lives are dictated by mobile technologies. For everything we do, whether it be to search for a local gardener or post a photo on Facebook, most of us do it on our phone. We may be on the train, at a restaurant, at work, on holiday – we can do it from literally anywhere. So if your website isn’t optimised for mobile devices, (ie mobile friendly) then how much traffic are you missing out on?
Just incase you’re not sure, what do we mean by mobile responsive or mobile friendly?
Basically it means that the website is designed and built to automatically scale down to the size of different devices, enabling it to work on tablets, mobiles, etc).
So why it is such a big deal?
Well, aside from the fact that 94% of people judge a website by it’s level of responsiveness, Google also doesn’t like it either. If your website isn’t responsive it will display other, responsive, websites higher up the organic search results.
A responsive website makes a massive difference to SEO as well as customer satisfaction.
How do I know if my website is mobile friendly or not?
If you have to ‘pinch’ or ‘zoom’ your website on your phone, or are unable to access all of the information or the buttons, or its difficult to use, then it won’t be responsive.
